OracleSanctum is not a company. It is one person's attempt to practice horary astrology and geomancy correctly, share that practice honestly, and build the tools that didn't exist when he needed them most. This page explains who that person is, what he actually knows, and why the method matters more than he does.
Most people assume a site like this is run by a team, or by someone with a formal title in the field. Neither is true here.
I am one person. There is no team, no company, no institute behind the name. When you book a reading, read an article, or use one of the free chart tools on this site, you are dealing directly with me — the person who built it, writes it, and casts every chart.
I did not come to this work through a university course or a certification program. I came to it the way most people actually learn something they weren't supposed to have access to: slowly, alone, and against real obstacles. I think that matters more to say plainly than to hide, because it's the reason this site exists at all.
I built OracleSanctum to be the resource I needed and couldn't find.
I grew up in a part of the world where geomancy already existed — practiced in my own household, in a form passed down rather than studied — but not in a way that was rigorous, or written down, or explained. It was something people did, not something anyone taught properly. That gap stayed with me long before I had a name for what I was actually curious about.
How a self-taught practitioner actually gets here
I'm not going to pretend this was a straight line, or that I learned from the best teachers money can buy. I didn't have that option. Here is what actually happened, in order.
A book on geomancy, read alone
I found John Michael Greer's The Art and Practice of Geomancy and started working through it on my own. There was no course I could take and no teacher nearby — where I live, a single online course can cost more than a month's income, so "just pay for it" was never a real option. I read, practiced the figures, and kept searching for the next piece of the puzzle, one book at a time.
Horary astrology, and the reason it clicked
Geomancy had already taught me houses, significators, and the logic of reading a fixed structure for a specific question. So when I found John Frawley's The Horary Textbook, most of it wasn't unfamiliar — it was the same underlying grammar in a different language. Frawley kept pointing back to William Lilly, so I went and read Lilly directly. That became the second foundation everything else here is built on.
Picatrix, and where the two traditions meet
Through a religious-discussion YouTube channel, I came across the Picatrix — and found that Greer had also translated it. Reading it alongside Lilly and Frawley showed me something I hadn't expected: the Arabic and the English traditions of judgement astrology and geomancy aren't separate interests. They're branches of the same root. That's the tradition this site studies.
OracleSanctum is built
I studied architecture, not computer science, but I taught myself enough programming to build what I actually needed: a tool that would calculate essential dignities, receptions, and applying aspects correctly, instantly, without needing a book open beside the screen every time. That tool is now free for anyone to use. OracleSanctum — the name itself took real work to land on, because it had to hold the whole of what I wanted this to be — went live on my birthday, and has grown from there.
I don't claim to have invented anything here
Every judgement I make and every article I write traces back to named, documented sources — not personal intuition dressed up as method. If a claim on this site can't be traced to one of these, it shouldn't be here. That's the standard I hold myself to.

Christian Astrology (1647) is the primary source for the horary method used across this entire site — how significators are chosen, how dignity is weighed, how a chart is judged.
John Frawley Contemporary
The Horary Textbook is the book that first showed me this method could be learned as a precise, rule-based system rather than an interpretive art. It remains the clearest modern restatement of Lilly's approach.

The Art and Practice of Geomancy was my first real entry point into structured divination, and remains the clearest technical grounding for the geomancy tool and readings offered here.
Many people assume this kind of study conflicts with religious life. I don't think it does.
I am Muslim. Where I live, the traditional arts this site studies — geomancy especially — are often viewed with suspicion, sometimes treated as forbidden outright. I've thought about that seriously, not dismissed it, and I've come to a different conclusion than the one I was handed.
Seeking real knowledge is not the same thing as seeking to control fate. Geomancy and horary astrology, done properly, are disciplined methods of inquiry — a way of asking a clear question and reasoning carefully toward an answer. I have not found a specific, direct prohibition of this practice in the Quran itself, and I hold the view — shared across parts of the Islamic intellectual tradition — that structured, rule-based inquiry into the unseen is compatible with faith rather than opposed to it. This is also part of why the Sufi tradition, and thinkers like Ibn Arabi, hold real weight for me: the idea that knowledge of the world and closeness to God are not competing pursuits, but the same pursuit seen from two directions.
I say this once, plainly, because I'd rather you know where I stand than wonder. It won't come up constantly across this site. But it's part of why I do this work with a clear conscience, and why I think it's worth doing well rather than quietly.

When you ask a real question, I cast the chart and judge it myself, using the Lilly and Frawley method directly — significators, dignity, reception, timing — and give you a clear verdict in plain language.
Structured Courses
Built for people in the position I was once in: motivated, capable of learning this properly, but without access to a teacher. The courses teach the method as a system, the same way I eventually pieced it together myself, just faster.
I don't use my legal name on this site, and I'm not going to. Not because I have anything to hide about the work itself — every method, source, and claim here is exactly as I've described it, and I stand behind all of it under my own judgement. But where I live, this field carries real personal risk that has nothing to do with whether the work is honest or sound.
What I offer instead is full transparency about everything that actually matters to you: the tradition I follow, the sources I cite, how long I've studied, and how I arrive at every judgement I make. Evaluate this site on that — on the method, the sourcing, and the readings themselves — rather than on a name. That has always seemed like the more honest trade to me.
